About The Position

This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, administering, and supporting networks, directories, servers, endpoints, security, and cloud infrastructure. This includes the installation of operating systems and applications. The IT Systems Engineer will administer and maintain physical servers and virtualization platforms in a multi-hypervisor environment, and maintain and support a dedicated network, including switching, VLANs, and network segmentation. The role also involves leveraging vendor-provided scripted installers and images, deploying and configuring process control system platforms, and acting as a bridge between operational teams and central IT to align local systems with enterprise standards. Additionally, the position supports remote management tools and access platforms, collaborates with central infrastructure teams on capacity planning, redundancy, and resilience, maintains secure segmentation between networks, and supports monitoring and alerting systems. A solid working knowledge of a broad array of technologies, applications, and services is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience in addition to the required administration experience
  • Two (2) years of experience administering Server, Storage, or Network technologies
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting technology (PowerShell, Python, or shell etc.)
  • Industry certification (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, ISC2, ISACA, etc.)
  • Strong documentation and communications skills and the proven ability to produce, maintain, and update technical documentation
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory
  • Hands-on experience supporting virtualized environments
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts (switching, VLANs, firewall segmentation)
  • Experience supporting industrial or customer test environments with non-standard system configurations
  • Familiarity with imaging, scripted installs, or automated build processes

  • Experience working in environments with formal change control and operational governance.
