About The Position

ATA Services is seeking an experienced IT Systems and Security Support Specialist for a part-time, temporary position in SE Albuquerque. This role will provide operational support to the Public School Facilities Authority’s IT Department, assisting with daily operations, documentation, and modernization projects. The position aims to provide additional support for operational and security workloads, ensuring continuity of services while long-term staffing needs are assessed.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate’s degree in computer science.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365-based environments with identity and access management principles.
  • Working knowledge of IT security and compliance.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Support IT management and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Support endpoint management and configuration using Intune and related tools.
  • Assist with identity and lifecycle management, including user provisioning, access reviews, and offboarding.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and standards.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of security controls, including Conditional Access policies and Least-privilege access models.
  • Support compliance efforts through documentation preparation, access audits and reviews, and policy implementation and enforcement.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, patching coordination, and basic security monitoring.
  • Support backup and recovery processes, verify backup integrity, and assist with disaster recovery readiness.
  • Assist with system reliability initiatives to reduce outages and service interruptions.
  • Act as secondary coverage for critical systems during absences or high-impact incidents.
  • Provide technical support for ongoing modernization projects, including cloud migrations, data and SharePoint restructuring, and identity and access redesign.
  • Coordinate with the Software Developer to ensure infrastructure and security alignment for custom solutions.
  • Assist with testing, rollout planning, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Serve as escalation support for complex technical issues when required.
  • Provide secondary help desk coverage during peak periods or staff absence (not primary duty).
  • Assist IT management in routine operational tasks.
