The Opportunity This position works out of our Sturgis, Michigan location in the Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain Division of Abbott Laboratories. As an IT Systems Analyst, you’ll have the chance to provide operational support for the Plant IT environment, working with site applications, infrastructure, customer support, site projects, continuous improvements, and manufacturing continuity. You will work with multiple IT teams and organizations to deliver services for the site, as well as work with plant production teams to ensure operational stability for the manufacturing IT environments.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or 2-4 years equivalent experience.
  • 2 years in IT application operations or/and Software development or Desktop/Infrastructure, production support, preferably in manufacturing or 24×7 environments.
  • Working knowledge of IT Software (SLC) and/or Computer hardware and/or basic networking skills.
  • Ability to work off-hours for on call support rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or healthcare IT position
  • Skills in operational management of MES/EBR applications
  • Experience with QLM and SLC methodologies
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation, evaluation and implementation of client application programming/systems solutions of new and currently used programs.
  • Participates as a technical team member assisting in design, programming and testing of system projects and enhancements within a specific functional area.
  • Provides day-to-day support including problem resolution and coordination of operational activity relative to site needs.
  • Research and evaluate alternative solutions and makes recommendations for improved system operations, control or enhancing business functions.
  • Formulates logical statements of business requirements with some guidance; devises, tests and implements efficient cost-effective application program solutions (e.g. codes and/or reuses existing code through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions).
  • Assists in devising data verification methods and standard system procedures, participates in systems testing, prepares program test data, tests and debugs programs.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Independently conceives and develops general approaches to the solution of systems problems that require application of basic technical principles.
  • Works under general supervision.
