About The Position

IT Support Technician / IT Support Engineer Omnis Computers – Schenectady, NY Full-Time | Starting at $25/hour | Monday–Friday About Omnis Computers Omnis Computers is an established Managed Service Provider (MSP) serving businesses and organizations throughout New York's Capital Region. Since 1984, we've helped our clients manage, secure, and get the most out of their technology. We're a small, experienced team, which means our technicians get hands-on exposure to a wide variety of clients, environments, and technologies. We're looking for an IT Support Technician / IT Support Engineer to join our team in Schenectady. This position is a great fit for someone early in their IT career with a strong technical foundation, as well as an experienced Level 1 or Level 2 technician looking to expand their skills in an MSP environment. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay of $25.00/hour, with compensation based on experience and skill level Health insurance Paid time off (PTO) Retirement plan Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule Opportunities for professional growth and hands-on experience across a wide range of IT technologies What You'll Do You'll work directly with our clients and technical team to troubleshoot everyday IT problems, maintain client environments, and assist with technology deployments and projects. Responsibilities include: Provide remote, phone, and onsite technical support Troubleshoot Windows desktops and laptops Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and related applications Create and manage Microsoft 365 users, licenses, permissions, and MFA Troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other peripherals Diagnose internet, Wi-Fi, VPN, and general network connectivity issues Set up and deploy new computers and other hardware Assist with Windows Server and Active Directory environments Support firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and other network equipment Troubleshoot software and line-of-business applications Assist with endpoint security, backups, email security, and other cybersecurity solutions Document work and maintain accurate service tickets Travel to client locations throughout the Capital Region when onsite assistance is required Work alongside senior engineers on larger projects, migrations, and deployments What We're Looking For You don't need to be an expert in everything. We're looking for someone with a good technical foundation who enjoys troubleshooting, communicates well, and wants to continue learning. Ideal candidates will have: Basic to intermediate Windows troubleshooting skills Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPNs Experience installing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Good written and verbal communication skills A professional and friendly approach when working with clients Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Willingness to learn new technologies Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits Previous experience at an MSP, IT help desk, computer repair business, or internal IT department is a plus, but it is not required. We're open to candidates with less professional experience who can demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn. Relevant IT education, certifications, internships, homelab experience, or other hands-on technical experience will also be considered. Requirements
