About The Position

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support for end-users at Corning’s Concord plant. This role performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames in the manufacturing and office environments supporting a range of equipment including PCs, printers, servers, limited network/RF support, etc.

Requirements

Associate degree in IT-related field preferred or High school diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role.
Relevant certifications a plus
3+ years’ experience in an IT support role working with end-users.
3+ years’ experience working with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance.
Technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer software, printers, and peripheral equipment
Limited knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology
Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and MS Suite

General knowledge of “ticketing systems” (ServiceNow)
Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software technology.
Responds to requests and incident tickets for first level support to users (onsite and remote) on any IT related matter. Escalation to levels 2 and 3 when applicable.
Management of spares and assets inventory in the Inventory management tool
Training of end-users and communication on Corporate IT initiatives, best practices, or any other relevant IT-related topics.
Participation in any plant IT-related activities on offices and manufacturing systems.
Proposes and implements solutions to improve and solve routine problems.
Assist with management of hardware refresh projects – PC’s, printers, timeclocks
Supports new hires onboarding by introducing them to Corning hardware, software, and IT policies.
Follows standard operating procedures.
Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information / materials.
Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats.
Always focused on safety.
