About The Position

Battelle’s National Security Logistics and Operations Division is seeking an IT Support Technician IV for full-time work in Albany, Georgia supporting contracts with the Marine Corps Logistics Command. We are looking for a highly competent staff member to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities include high-level system administration, advanced network maintenance, and conducting root cause analysis to optimize program performance. This role serves as a technical resource, providing guidance to warehouse staff while ensuring the smooth operation of critical business processes.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain and maintain) a Federal Security Clearance.
  • Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification or have the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire to meet DoD 8140/8570 compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience as an IT Support Technician, IT Administrator, or Network Technician.
  • Profound experience with LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and common enterprise hardware/software.
  • Experience with imaging software, virus protection software, and network monitoring software management.
  • Strong analytical mindset, leadership qualities, and the ability to explain complex technical info in an easy-to-follow format.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+.
  • Advanced Credentials: CCNA, CEH, or CCNP.
  • Experience with information security, compliance, and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system administration for assigned business systems and diagnose advanced hardware (PCs, mobile, desktop phones), software, and network (LAN, WIFI, VPN) issues.
  • Support the maintenance of a secure network free of malware and protected against hackers; install and maintain up-to-date firewalls and cybersecurity software.
  • Conduct periodic IT asset inventories and maintain strict accountability records for all hardware and software in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Analyze network data and usage to provide recommendations for improvements; assist with root cause analysis for recurring issues to implement preventive measures.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff; develop and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person; manage account setups, logins, and email addresses for new employees; maintain accurate records in the ITSM system.
  • Perform physical hardware equipment repairs on laptops, desktops, printers, and wiring.
