About The Position

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is seeking a Part-Time IT Support Specialist to provide frontline technical support to staff. This role ensures the reliable day-to-day operation of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, conferencing systems, and general office technology. As the first point of contact for technical issues, this position works closely with the IT Director to maintain a secure and well-functioning technology environment for a small-to-mid-size nonprofit office.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience providing desktop/helpdesk support in an office environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS, Microsoft 365, and common office hardware (printers, scanners, video conferencing equipment).
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 25 lbs) as needed.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining constructive partnerships with colleagues.
  • Commitment to the CFGA mission of equity and shared prosperity for all.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting a nonprofit or small-office environment.
  • Basic familiarity with networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers/network shares).

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line helpdesk support for hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues via phone, email, and ticketing system.
  • Set up and configure new employee workstations, accounts, and mobile devices; process equipment returns for departing staff.
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and updates on desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Support audio/video and conferencing technology for meetings and events.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and equipment assignments.
  • Assist with basic user account administration in Active Directory/Microsoft 365 under IT policy guidance.
  • Document recurring issues and resolutions to build out an internal knowledge base.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the Managing Director of IT or appropriate vendor/support partner.
  • Support basic conference room and office technology troubleshooting during business hours.
