About The Position

The IT Support Specialist will be well organized, detail oriented, and have excellent communication skills. This role involves providing first-line support for onsite, remote, and hybrid employees, installing software, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and training users on software and equipment. The specialist will perform remote troubleshooting, triage issues, and manage the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of network and cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID/Active Directory. They will also administer and support the Microsoft 365 suite, support a mobile device management (MDM) platform, and provide support for both Windows and Mac/Apple hardware. Additionally, the role includes designing and delivering training sessions, providing proactive IT support, supporting basic cybersecurity practices, and managing new-hire and offboarding setups. Staying current on emerging technology, including AI tools, and evaluating new solutions is also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum: 2 years IT field experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficient supporting the full Microsoft 365 suite
  • Ability to train and instruct users of varying technical skill levels
  • Strong documentation skills: procedures, network information, and asset tracking
  • Experience with Android, iOS, and Windows mobile devices
  • Windows desktop support
  • Mac/Apple device support
  • Experience with Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity with basic cybersecurity/endpoint protection practices
  • Curiosity and openness to learning new and emerging technologies, including AI-based tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for onsite, remote, and hybrid hardware, installing software, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and training users on software and equipment
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Triage issues and resolve them directly or route to the appropriate resource
  • Provide daily and weekly updates to the manager on project status, new user setups, and open issues
  • Manage day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of network and cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID/Active Directory
  • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Support and help manage a mobile device management (MDM) platform for company-issued iOS, Android, and Windows devices
  • Support both Windows and Mac/Apple hardware
  • Design and deliver training sessions that drive adoption of new technologies, including AI tools
  • Provide proactive IT support: monitoring systems and flagging issues before they disrupt end users
  • Support basic cybersecurity practices: endpoint protection, phishing awareness, and patch management
  • Own new-hire and offboarding setup/teardown for desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones
  • Stay current on emerging technology, including AI tools, and help evaluate and pilot new solutions
  • Learn the processes and procedures our IT team follows and become proficient in them
  • Become familiar with our systems and infrastructure, including cloud and on-prem infrastructure
