About The Position

At Red Dot, technology keeps our people, projects, and operations moving. We’re looking for an IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist who enjoys solving problems, working with people, and getting hands-on with technology. This is a full time, onsite Monday – Friday position where you’ll provide day-to-day technical support while also helping maintain and improve our network, systems, hardware, and infrastructure. You’ll work across the organization to keep technology reliable, secure, and ready to support a growing business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, networking, or a related technical environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft applications.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, networking, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, VoIP, and client/server environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team member.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read basic technical, construction, electrical, or architectural documents.

Nice To Haves

  • technical education, A.A.S. in IT/networking, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with network cabling and low-voltage infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ or other relevant certification is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with Apple, Linux, and mobile operating systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, high-quality technical support for computers, mobile devices, printers, software, network connectivity, and other technology.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hardware, operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and technology access through Active Directory and related systems.
  • Support employee onboarding, transfers, and offboarding, including equipment and system access.
  • Assist with network and infrastructure administration, including switches, wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, servers, virtual machines, backups, and storage.
  • Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot low-voltage network cabling, including fiber optic cable.
  • Support VoIP, email, and other communication systems.
  • Maintain technology inventory, asset records, system documentation, and procedures.
  • Manage help desk tickets and work orders, prioritizing issues and providing timely communication and follow-through.
  • Perform system updates, patching, preventative maintenance, equipment replacements, and technology health checks.
  • Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint protection, access controls, account security, and security alerts.
  • Partner with IT, vendors, contractors, and internal teams on technology projects, upgrades, deployments, and problem resolution.
  • Follow all company technology, cybersecurity, safety, and quality standards.
  • Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support when needed.
