About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for an Information Technology Specialist! ABOUT GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHEAST INDIANA, INC. Founded in Boston, MA in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J Helms, Goodwill has been providing opportunities for men and women across America and around the world ever since. The Fort Wayne Goodwill can trace its roots back to 1936 when Reverend Helms proposed a federation of Goodwill Industries across northern Indiana. Today, we continue to flourish as we serve 10 county area in Northeast Indiana. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, our mission is to create opportunities for people to achieve economic stability and build strong communities by offering job training, employment services, and other community-based programs. We support this mission through the eco-friendly collection and sale of donated goods. This position incorporates a wide variety of duties. Basically, if it plugs in to the wall, the IT Department handles it! For example, maintaining and troubleshooting Goodwill data, PCs, cameras, register servers, and hardware and software components. This person will also communicate with staff (who may or may not be tech savvy) to help answer questions, issue user ID and passwords for various programs, and resolve hardware and software issues for Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana's Corporate, Operations and retail store locations.

Requirements

  • An Associates Degree in the Information Technology Field
  • Two (2) or more years experience in PC and network troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange products.
  • Proficient in Google Classroom and Google Workspace
  • Expertise in terminal services and general knowledge in networking.
  • Ability to help users at all skill levels, and be able to respond to those users in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in an effective and organized manner and work with limited supervision.
  • MUST have a valid drivers license and dependable transportation and be able to travel to multiple job sites.
  • Must provide proof of insurance for personal vehicle at approved levels (100/300,000 liability; 50,000 property damage.)
  • Must have a suitable driving record and be insurable by Goodwill Industries insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work within the team concept.
  • Subject to random alcohol and drug testing as specified in the Drug Free Workplace Program.
  • Fully comply with Goodwill policy regarding values and ethical behavior with special emphasis on the Code of Ethics.

  • Citrix is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Helps maintain and troubleshoots all Goodwill, data, camera, register servers, and hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoots problems with internet and telephone lines, phone systems, time clocks, cameras, registers, and various computer equipment at all locations.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of staff concerning access to resources on the network, the operation of the network and resolving software and hardware conflicts with computers connecting to the network.
  • Provides users with system access, file security, user IDs, and passwords for network systems and various software programs.
  • Assists remote users via telephone or email to resolve network, hardware, software or miscellaneous equipment problems.
  • Collaborates with other staff to ensure website is maintained and updated.
  • Consults with the Director of Information Technology to determine scope and priorities of projects.
  • Maintains availability to provide occasional network and telecommunication systems support outside of normal business hours.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned by the VP of Information Technology in the process of carrying out the mission of Goodwill Industries.
  • Tests donated equipment.
  • Cleans register and credit card equipment.
