About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide variety of IT infrastructure, including data, PCs, cameras, register servers, and hardware/software components. The IT Specialist will also provide support to staff, answer technical questions, issue user IDs and passwords, and resolve hardware and software issues across corporate, operations, and retail store locations. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, at least two years of experience in PC and network troubleshooting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Google Classroom, and Google Workspace. Expertise in terminal services and general networking knowledge is also required, with Citrix being a plus. The ability to assist users of all skill levels, work independently, and travel to multiple job sites with a valid driver's license and dependable transportation is essential.

Requirements

  • An Associates Degree in the Information Technology Field
  • Two (2) or more years experience in PC and network troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange products.
  • Proficient in Google Classroom and Google Workspace
  • Expertise in terminal services and general knowledge in networking.
  • Ability to help users at all skill levels, and be able to respond to those users in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in an effective and organized manner and work with limited supervision.
  • MUST have a valid drivers license and dependable transportation and be able to travel to multiple job sites.
  • Must provide proof of insurance for personal vehicle at approved levels (100/300,000 liability; 50,000 property damage.)
  • Must have a suitable driving record and be insurable by Goodwill Industries insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work within the team concept.
  • Subject to random alcohol and drug testing as specified in the Drug Free Workplace Program.
  • Fully comply with Goodwill policy regarding values and ethical behavior with special emphasis on the Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Helps maintain and troubleshoots all Goodwill, data, camera, register servers, and hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoots problems with internet and telephone lines, phone systems, time clocks, cameras, registers, and various computer equipment at all locations.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of staff concerning access to resources on the network, the operation of the network and resolving software and hardware conflicts with computers connecting to the network.
  • Provides users with system access, file security, user IDs, and passwords for network systems and various software programs.
  • Assists remote users via telephone or email to resolve network, hardware, software or miscellaneous equipment problems.
  • Collaborates with other staff to ensure website is maintained and updated.
  • Consults with the Director of Information Technology to determine scope and priorities of projects.
  • Maintains availability to provide occasional network and telecommunication systems support outside of normal business hours.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned by the VP of Information Technology in the process of carrying out the mission of Goodwill Industries.
