About The Position

Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. It serves more than 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo, and Mono Counties, covering approximately 22,000 square miles and a population of more than 945,000 people. The IT Specialist collaborates directly with the IT Lead to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The role includes troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware issues and performing tasks onsite and remotely as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT or Systems Engineering from an accredited school.
Five years of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software or hardware issues.
Ability to perform tasks onsite as well as remotely when necessary.
Valid California Driver’s License and state automobile insurance, with an acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
Full use of an automobile or ability to provide independent transportation.
Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned on a daily basis.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends and be on call.
