About The Position

The IT Solutions Designer leads the creation of comprehensive, end-to-end detailed solutions and is accountable for technical design and delivery of the System Design Specification (SDS). The role is primarily focused on large-scale, complex, or enterprise projects and may include complex programming or coding. The designer performs complex technical work independently, serves as a subject matter expert, consults with clients and project teams, and provides technical guidance to others. The role also leads detailed project planning and assesses the impact and risks of integrating third-party solutions. It typically reports to an IT Development Manager or above.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
• 5–7 years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the business and technical environment, processes, tools, programming languages, operating systems, solution design, and relevant technology areas.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one area of discipline.
• Strong solution-design mindset and ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise technologies, including application development frameworks, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, middleware, and network infrastructure.
• 5+ years designing and integrating solutions across internal and external platforms, including third-party vendor integrations and enterprise APIs.
• 5+ years producing architecture and solution-design documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including the ability to explain solution designs, architectural decisions, risks, and trade-offs to varied audiences.
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with knowledge of modern Java frameworks and design patterns.
• 5+ years designing and architecting Java-based distributed applications, including service-oriented and API-driven architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices-based solutions, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure software development practices.
• Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI tools to improve solution design, including incorporating AI-based components into delivered solutions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cloud technologies and containerized platforms such as Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience in financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries, with understanding of risk, compliance, governance, and operational resiliency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work as a senior developer across a diverse range of activities and provide technical guidance to help resolve issues within the area of expertise.
• Lead development of detailed, complex, or comprehensive project plans.
• Understand and assess the impact and risk of integrating third-party solutions.
