About The Position

The IT Project Lead – Mergers, Acquisitions & Due Diligence role is a critical entry point into Medtronic’s M&A function, supporting the successful evaluation and integration of acquired or divested businesses. This role provides an opportunity to apply hands-on experience gained during rotations to drive real-time deal execution—focusing on IT due diligence, integration readiness, and cross-functional coordination to enable seamless transitions and business value realization. This role partners closely with IT M&A Integration Managers, Corporate Development, and functional SMEs to deliver timely, high-quality diligence insights and integration deliverables across active transactions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 0+ years of experience with an advanced degree
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to M&A, due diligence, or integration-related projects
  • Strong project management and organizational skills (PMP or certification in progress is a plus)
  • Foundational understanding of enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Workday) and business processes
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on executive-ready, outcome-driven messaging

Responsibilities

  • Support and progressively lead IT due diligence workstreams to assess target company technology environments, including infrastructure, applications, data, and security posture.
  • Analyze findings to identify risks, gaps, and potential synergies, and translate them into actionable insights for deal teams.
  • Partner with SMEs to gather inputs and ensure completeness and accuracy of diligence outputs.
  • Contribute to the development of IT integration plans aligned to deal objectives, including Day 1 readiness and post-close milestones.
  • Track and manage key deliverables such as cutover plans, system access, data migration readiness, and onboarding activities.
  • Support coordination of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across IT and business stakeholders.
  • Own and manage workstream-level deliverables, timelines, and RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) tracking.
  • Provide structured status updates to leadership, highlighting risks, dependencies, and decisions needed.
  • Support execution across multiple concurrent deals in a fast-paced, ambiguity-driven environment.
  • Build strong working relationships with IT functional teams (Infrastructure, Apps, Security, Data), Corporate Development and Integration Management Office (IMO), Business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Facilitate working sessions, diligence reviews, and integration checkpoints.
  • Ensure clear, concise, and outcome-driven communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Leverage experience gained through the rotational program to contribute to standardizing diligence and integration templates, enhancing playbooks and repeatable processes, and driving continuous improvement across M&A execution.
  • Identify and escalate IT-related risks that could impact deal timelines or outcomes.
  • Support adherence to Medtronic security, regulatory, and compliance requirements during diligence and integration.
  • Ensure deliverables meet defined quality standards and governance expectations.
