About The Position

The IT Project Coordinator will serve as the head of the project management team for the development of PavementWorks and the IT&T Liaison, responsible for attending the quarterly IT forums, as well as the IT governance designee responsible for submitting project requests and the IT governance process for the division. The candidate will represent the Division’s interests during the replacement process and coordinate the development with DOT’s IT group. Duties will include: supervision and oversight of efforts to review business requirements, ensuring that the Division’s position is accurately articulated; attending various meetings; preparation of written and oral progress reports; ensuring that high-level business requirements are translated into detailed functional specifications to facilitate high-quality project success; attending regular development meetings with IT&T, gathering and transmitting necessary information; developing plans for working out hardware solutions and their rollout; interfacing with office and operational personnel to facilitate information gathering, testing, training, and rollout processes. Conduct demos, oversee ongoing QA application testing, develop training materials and manuals, and conduct ongoing training sessions to ensure the success of application adoption. Develop and implement a rollout plan for the application end users. Supervise the management of multiple projects in order to streamline the development process. Interface with team members, the management team, the Assistant Commissioner, and the Deputy Commissioner; and perform duties related to the management of IT reporting in the Division.

Requirements

  • Must be serving permanently in the Civil Service title of Certified IT Developer (Applications).
  • Must have current professional/vendor certifications.
  • Option 1: Master's degree in computer science or related field AND 12 months of specialized experience in computer applications development planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management.
  • Option 2: Baccalaureate degree AND 24 months of specialized experience as described above.
  • Option 3: Four-year high school diploma or equivalent AND 24 months of specialized experience plus 48 months of information technology experience.
  • Option 4: A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to Option 3, with education substituting for IT experience at a rate of 30 semester credits per 12 months, up to 48 months.
  • Must have at least a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and at least 24 months of satisfactory full-time specialized information technology experience if qualifying under options 2, 3, or 4.
