About The Position

This Senior Analyst role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Network Operations. The position is expected to provide senior level troubleshooting expertise including on-call pager rotation duties, to help fix incidents and issues. The role belongs in the L2 support team which is accountable to help resolve critical/escalated network incidents. Overall, the network operations department comprises of the L1/NOC (Network Operational Centre) team that operates on a 24/7 shift-based schedule, the L2 (Tech Response) team, the network Performance and Capacity (P&C) team an operational automation function as well. The primary accountability of the L2/TR team is to keep the lights on for all critical network services on a global basis.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of solid hands-on relevant experience on Wired and Wireless technologies including Routing/Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancing, Cloud, SD-WAN, QoS, VoIP, Optical, DHCP, DNS, Monitoring Tools, CDN, etc.
  • Expert level trace analysis skills are a must.
  • Experience supporting a large and complex network environment, preferably with adequate operational hands-on experience.
  • Experience in exploring and implementing automation for Proactive monitoring and reducing incident resolution time.
  • Flexible with on call & rotation and shift timing.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience to support platforms like.
  • Adept at analyzing network traces to identify root cause quickly.
  • Operations mind set is a must.
  • Supervisory as well as Sr. Consulting type skills are necessary.
  • Deep technical knowledge for platforms and the way applications interact with the network are a must.
  • Technical skills need to be wide and deep.
  • Knowledge of new areas like Cloud, SaaS, ACI, SDWAN, etc. are key.
  • Strong leadership skills in troubleshooting complex incidents in a time sensitive manner and articulate technical issues concisely to senior management.
  • Dependable, innovative, accountable, passionate, transparent and collaborative.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and platforms including Cloud, SD-WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing and Switching, QoS, VoIP, Optical, Monitoring Tools, DHCP, DNS and CDN(content delivery), etc.
  • Soft skills – working with people and resolving conflicts.
  • Fully hands on resource with ability to multitask, prioritize and deal with challenges in real time.
  • Well qualified with deep and wide skills in all major areas of technology that are important to us, e.g., Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, SDWAN technologies Cisco/Aruba, SASE, Cloud, etc. and experience using latest tool sets including very deep Wireshark/Extrahop sniffing skills, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Having CCIE , F5, Palo Alto, DC and SDWAN qualifications will be an definite plus.
  • New technologies like ACI and DNAC are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level troubleshooting expertise.
  • Perform on-call pager rotation duties.

  • Identify and fix issues, and tirelessly pursue fixing the root cause with other teams as necessary to avoid future incidents.
  • Perform queue management if and when needed.
  • Direct other colleagues towards resolution.
  • Troubleshoot across network platforms, including wired and wireless, F5 load balancing and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents in a time sensitive manner.
  • Articulate technical issues concisely to senior management.
  • Use Automation as well as advanced network management tooling to help resolve incidents quickly and efficiently.
  • Support platforms like ACI and DNAC.
  • Explore and implement automation for proactive monitoring and reducing incident resolution time.
  • Be dependable, innovative, accountable, passionate, transparent and collaborative.
  • Work with people and resolve conflicts.
