About The Position

The Sr. Active Directory Administrator would need to have at least 4+ years of directly related experience supporting Active Directory operations and engineering. The Senior Active Directory Administrator is a subject matter expert that has global responsibility for the design and configuration of the Active Directory and Windows Server environment.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years of directly related experience supporting Active Directory operations and engineering.
  • Proven expertise in designing and architecting domain consolidation projects.
  • Strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units.
  • Must possess proven experience working with a large enterprise distributed computing environment.
  • Expert Knowledge of Active Directory architecture and management
  • Expert knowledge of DNS and DHCP
  • Expert knowledge in creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs)
  • Expert knowledge of PKI, and Microsoft Certificate Services
  • Expert knowledge of Distributed File System
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft KMS solution
  • Ability to create custom scripts using PowerShell
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 6+ years of directly related experience supporting Active Directory operations and engineering with increasing responsibility.
  • MCSE: Server Infrastructure certification
  • MCSA: Windows Server 2012 certification
  • AZURE certification

Responsibilities

  • Designing and architecting domain consolidation projects.
  • Designing and architecting a global Active Directory Infrastructure, including, design and implementation of Group Policy, domain consolidation for large scale organizations.
  • Utilizing logical problem solving to find creative solutions to problems in the environment on a broad scale.
  • Planning and executing Active Directory Domain level upgrades.
  • Planning and designing Group Policy Objects as requested to ensure compliance of company policies for servers and user end-point devices.
  • Assisting in management and support of internal and external DNS systems.
  • Assisting in management and support of internal DHCP architecture and scoping.
  • Working with stakeholders and other technical teams to collect business and technical requirements and design / deliver enterprise level solutions.
  • Maintaining standards for installation of infrastructure software / hardware installations.
  • Serving as a technical expert for Tier 1/2/3 support groups.
  • Overseeing the architecture and design of the global backup and recovery of Active Directory.
  • Collaborating and communicating with architects with internal departments and vendor partners.
  • Owning and leading discussions in business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancement and conversions.
  • Recommending solutions as appropriate.
  • Supporting IT goals and objectives including measures and projects.
  • Providing problem solving leadership based on experience with the technology.
  • Acting as a member of the Windows Active Directory Domain Administrator Support Team in providing timely and efficient support to assigned operations; coordinating day-to-day operations, applying security patches/fixes and anti-virus updates as released by software manufacturers and anti-virus vendors, creating and implementing domain level security policies such as authentication mechanisms, password policies and rules, IPSEC policies etc.
  • Reviewing domain level rights and privileges and performing changes to the same as appropriate.
  • Collaborating in assessing current and expected Windows infrastructure needs, configuration, maintenance, optimization and documentation of Windows infrastructure.
  • Following and applying configuration and security standards and policies within a defined Change Management process.
  • Assisting with implementing solutions for hardware and software.
  • Implementing common preventive maintenance practices for hardware and software.
  • Ensuring that system improvements and changes are implemented correctly and completely, and monitoring all effects of the modifications.
  • Establishing/recommending policies on system use and services.
  • Performing common administrative tasks.
  • Supporting of a distributed MS Windows-based network.
  • Providing leadership for Junior and Senior Team members.
