The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) protects and enhances the daily economic lives of New Yorkers to create thriving communities. DCWP seeks a College Aide hire to play a key role in the agency’s Information Technology team (DoTSS), while gaining IT experience during their college experience. The College Aides will assist the IT Operations team in updating and enrolling laptops into DCWP’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, agency inventory-asset tracking, and helpdesk support.

Responsibilities

  • Enrolling mobile devices in MDM (iPhones, iPads, Laptops)
  • Configuring and Adding Mobile Printers to iPads
  • Relinquishing mobile devices
  • Troubleshooting mobile devices
  • Upgrading agency iPhones/iPads and performing software updates
  • Identifying hardware and software solutions
  • PC/Laptops Software and Hardware Installations and Configurations
  • Image Creation and Deployment - PCs and Laptops
  • Troubleshooting technical issues on IT Assets
  • Inventory taking
  • Providing support over the phone and in person
  • AD and E-mail account creations, modifications, etc.
  • Explaining technical concepts to staff in easy-to-understand terms
  • Listening to staff to understand and properly address the root of their problem
  • Talking DCWP staff through a series of actions to resolve a problem
  • Following up with DCWP staff to ensure the problem is resolved
  • Maintaining a professional, friendly, demeanor
