About The Position

LIFE, Inc. is seeking an IT Operations Technician to provide comprehensive IT support to users and facilities. This full-time, onsite role involves a wide range of technical tasks, from hardware and software installation and configuration to network maintenance and user support. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position requires travel to company facilities and availability during off-hours for system changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus two years of education or equivalent work experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of computing practices, hardware, networking, and email systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, policy manuals, and regulations.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel occasionally to company facilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated aptitude, curiosity, and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting computers, mobile devices, and networks.
  • Excellent teamwork, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting, walking, standing, reaching, climbing ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.
  • Availability during off-hours when necessary to perform system changes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone, remote desktop, and onsite support to users and facilities.
  • Open work order tickets, document issues, and resolve problems promptly.
  • Install network cabling from jack to patch panel when necessary.
  • Install and configure routers, switches, printers, cameras, and other network devices.
  • Set up and configure wireless devices, access points, security cameras, and time clocks.
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Prepare new computing devices with Windows and required software.
  • Manage Active Directory users and computers.
  • Establish and maintain user email accounts; provide training and support.
  • Repair computing devices and network hardware.
  • Remove viruses, malware, and other security threats.
  • Maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges, and security settings.
  • Install and configure new technologies as needed.
  • Deploy and replace computing and mobile devices as part of life-cycle management.
  • Recommend equipment replacements to management.
  • Set up, maintain, and repair facility camera security systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and devices.
  • Travel to facilities when remote access is unavailable (rarely requires overnight travel).
  • Participate in training as needed for the right candidate.
