About The Position

CapRadio is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to manage the reliability, security, and performance of its core technology infrastructure. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations across all facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of backend system administration and hands-on desktop support skills, aiming to create a seamless technology experience for staff and ensure the continuity of broadcasts and daily operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated history of understanding and managing computers, software, servers, networks, storage devices, security, and telecommunications.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • 5+ years of experience working in IT operations.
  • 5+ years of Windows troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to find and fix errors independently.
  • Commitment to Capital Public Radio’s core values.
  • Must be a licensed driver, insurable with own transportation, able to work remotely at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting for all CapRadio users and devices, including laptops, desktops, and cell phones.
  • Monitor and respond to help tickets alongside Operations.
  • Serve as primary liaison between CapRadio and Sacramento State IRT Department.
  • Develop and maintain technology-related policies and guidelines that support compliance, security, company goals, and fiscal responsibilities of CapRadio.
  • Assist Studio Operations team with installation of local servers, hardware, and software maintenance and upgrades for broadcast equipment.
  • Maintain asset inventory system and conduct annual audit of all CapRadio assets.
  • Research, plan, deploy, and maintain software for CapRadio business and broadcast operations.
  • Identify and patch information system and security vulnerabilities on CapRadio servers and studio systems.
  • Provide training, technical advice, and help to staff as required.
  • Follow industry standards and CSUS IRT standards on all projects and products used.
  • Provide occasional on-call support for IT-related issues.
