About The Position

Idaho Power is looking for an IT Operations Center Administrator to join their Information Technology team. The IT Operations Center strives to reduce the likelihood, duration, and impact of outages through effective monitoring, timely communication, alerting, and incident tracking. The team supports work with Integrity, Safety, and Respect in a High-Performance Culture. The IT Operations Center is responsible for 24x7x365 infrastructure monitoring and first response, incident management for all IT Services systems, applications, and the Data Center Building Facilities. They also handle after-hours operations and end-user troubleshooting for various systems and services. System Administrators analyze, install, configure, upgrade, document, monitor, and maintain software and hardware to support business needs. Supported systems include operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, Web servers, Application servers, Integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications. They perform tier 1 systems administration functions to ensure system reliability and availability, and provide first-level response for monitored system alerts.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of operations support software, enterprise monitoring, scheduler, backup/recovery, and change control
  • Knowledge of device management concepts, principles, maintenance, and operation
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of scripting fundamentals
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Independent, complex problem solving
  • Proper etiquette for telephone and email communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to convey ideas in a logical order and professional manner
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose technical problems utilizing documentation, tools, and the knowledge database

  • Associates degree OR Equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications
  • 3 years of experience in a technology operations environment or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to work various shifts as requested or scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • This role works 12-hour shifts

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
