About The Position

Texas Sports Academy is seeking an IT/MDM QA Consultant on a short-term, part-time contract basis to review the quality of their internal Mac deployment and classroom tooling. The academy is developing internal tools similar to Zoom and GoGuardian for video conferencing and student monitoring on student Macs. The consultant will assess current processes, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to improve software deployment and management across their Mac fleet.

Requirements

Deep MDM experience with Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Intune, or similar.
Understanding of how MDM systems behave in the field.
Real experience with managed installation of PKGs, signing and notarization, and packaging Mac software for controlled rollout.
Fluency in TCC and PPPC configuration, deployment of PPPC profiles, and troubleshooting TCC issues on managed Macs.
Experience shipping, deploying, or QA'ing software similar to Zoom, GoGuardian, Jamf School, Classroom, or comparable video conferencing and student monitoring tools.
Strong QA judgment and ability to quickly identify process gaps.
Clear communication skills, with the ability to write actionable findings and engage in productive technical conversations.

Nice To Haves

Apple Certifications (ACSP, ACMT, or Apple Deployment and Management certifications).
Comfort with scripting for Mac fleet management using shell, Python, or Swift.
Awareness of security and compliance, including student data privacy and FERPA.

Responsibilities

Review current QA processes for internal Mac tooling and identify gaps.
Audit MDM deployment flows for packaging, deployment, and management of PKGs on managed Macs.
Evaluate TCC and PPPC configurations for privacy permissions related to video conferencing and student monitoring tools.
Assess the student experience with deployed, updated, or failed tools on managed Macs.
Provide direct, practical feedback to the engineering and IT team.
Recommend tools, patterns, and standards for repeatable processes.
Write up findings clearly for actionable insights.
