About The Position

Techo-Bloc is seeking an IT Manager to lead their IT team across Canada and the United States. This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable with technology details, ambiguity, and making decisions. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, overseeing end-to-end support experiences, leading security operations, managing IT assets and procurement, and driving improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-site environments, particularly in manufacturing or industrial settings, and a strong understanding of the Microsoft stack and practical security measures. Fluency in both French and English is required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in IT
  • 3+ years leading people, including experience with development and performance management.
  • Multi-site experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial settings.
  • Hands-on experience with the Microsoft stack: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune.
  • Practical security experience: identity, endpoint, email security, incident response.
  • Experience with networking in industrial environments: VLANs, firewalls, VPN, and wireless.
  • ERP exposure, with hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 being a significant advantage.
  • Experience configuring and improving Helpdesk / ITSM platforms.
  • Vendor and procurement experience: asset and license management, hardware standardization, quoting or RFP processes, contract management, and budget management.
  • Fluent French and English.
  • Good judgment under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as SC-200, Security+, CISSP are welcome.
  • Experience building IT structure rather than inheriting it.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and improving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of IT technicians across two countries, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
  • Own the end-to-end IT support experience, including triaging escalations, ensuring immediate resolution of critical issues, and minimizing the impact of technology failures on users.
  • Oversee security operations, including identity and access management, conditional access, MFA, endpoint hardening, patch and vulnerability management, and email threat response.
  • Lead the response to security incidents.
  • Manage IT inventory (hardware, software, licensing) and ensure its accuracy for decision-making.
  • Oversee IT procurement, including specifying purchases, running quotes and RFPs, and standardizing the IT fleet.
  • Manage vendor and service contracts, including tracking renewals, negotiating terms, and ensuring value from suppliers.
  • Identify and address the root causes of recurring IT issues.
  • Scope and manage IT improvement projects, such as site upgrades, rollouts, and migrations.
  • Explore and implement practical applications of AI to improve team workflows.
  • Ensure no single points of failure exist within the IT team.
