About The Position

This program is designed for individuals looking to develop their careers in IT leadership within banking. Participants will apply technical skills to business and/or technical projects of low to moderate complexity. As a member of an agile team, incumbents will be actively involved in implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools. The program includes rotations every six months to different teams and assignments, which may include roles beyond software engineering, such as Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Quality Control. The role emphasizes accountability for risk management, open communication, and ensuring a positive customer experience by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
• Experience with software development and/or programming
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build relationships

Nice To Haves

• Relevant internship and/or co-op program experience

Responsibilities

• Rotate through four six-month assignments over a two-year period within the Technology department.
• Fulfill at least two roles as a software engineer.
• Take on other roles within technology, such as Product Owner or Scrum Master, based on career interests and leadership consultation.
• Play a key role as an individual contributor on projects or agile teams.
• Complete work assignments in conjunction with more senior staff members.
• Participate in learning sessions within Technology and with other leadership programs to understand the bank, leadership, strategies, and community involvement.
• Increase knowledge of the industry and the applications processed by Fifth Third Bank through all available channels.
