About The Position

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to support day-to-day IT operations and user support activities. The IT Intern will provide hands-on support to SRI’s Information Technology team, assisting with basic help desk functions, user administration, system monitoring, and IT asset management. This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking practical experience in IT operations, infrastructure monitoring, and end-user support in a professional services environment. The successful candidate will be eager to learn, dependable, and capable of following established procedures while working under supervision.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows), common business software, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with basic IT concepts such as backups, system performance, and hardware components.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions, document work, and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset when supporting end users.
  • Ability to pass a national background check and maintain suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 help desk support, including troubleshooting basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Assist with user account administration, including onboarding/offboarding support, password resets, and access verification.
  • Perform daily and periodic system checks, including verification of data backup completion and success status, CPU utilization, RAM utilization, and system health indicators.
  • Document and escalate issues to senior IT staff as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining IT asset management records, including tracking hardware, peripherals, licenses, and inventory updates.
  • Support workstation setup, configuration, and deployment for new and existing users.
  • Follow IT policies, security requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with documentation of procedures, checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Perform additional IT-related tasks as assigned.
