About The Position

Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC. is currently recruiting for an IT Intern to join the Alamo Group Ag Americas Team in Selma, Alabama. Alamo Group Ag Americas, Inc., a member of the Alamo Group family of companies, is the leading North American manufacturer of rotary cutters, finishing mowers, landscape tools, and tractor-mounted implements used in the agricultural market. Under direct supervision, the IT Intern assists with the day-to-day operation and support of IT systems, services, and projects across the organization. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, technical support, and basic administration of end-user devices, applications, and infrastructure. The IT Intern works closely with IT team members, learning foundational skills and best practices while contributing to operational tasks and project activities. Work is closely monitored, and the IT Intern does not lead initiatives, but supports all aspects of IT operations as assigned.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and develop foundational IT skills through hands-on experience and training.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, able to follow instructions and collaborate with IT team members.
  • Basic understanding of computers, software, and common IT concepts, with the ability to apply guidance from supervisors.
  • Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and organizational skills in completing assigned tasks and maintaining documentation.
  • Ability to provide basic technical support and troubleshooting under supervision, escalating issues as needed.
  • Commitment to following IT policies, procedures, and security practices.
  • Flexibility to assist with a variety of IT tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Professional attitude, punctuality, and a customer service mindset when interacting with users and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic support for hardware, software, and network issues under direct supervision, assisting IT team members with troubleshooting and resolving helpdesk tickets.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of end-user devices, including computers, mobile devices, and printers.
  • Help with user account creation, password resets, and access management tasks as directed by IT staff.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation, asset inventories, and records as assigned.
  • Assist with basic support for applications, Microsoft 365 services, and collaboration tools.
  • Support IT projects and initiatives by performing assigned tasks, gathering information, and assisting with implementation activities.
  • Follow IT security policies and procedures, assist with basic compliance activities, and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Actively participate in training, shadow IT professionals, and seek opportunities to learn foundational IT skills and best practices.
  • Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned, supporting users, systems, software applications, and infrastructure under supervision.
