The IT Infrastructure Manager – Server & Applications will be responsible for the strategy, implementation, and management of our company’s Microsoft and Application server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Microsoft server technologies, enterprise application management, and a thorough understanding of IT processes and procedures. This role requires a proven track record in managing complex IT environments and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical business systems. To achieve success in the strategic goals and mission set forth by leadership and the organization, this position will report to the SVP of Infrastructure and will work closely with the other IT Infrastructure Managers to ensure a customer-first philosophy while striving to provide excellent service and support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management with a strong focus on Microsoft server technologies and enterprise applications.
  • Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and security and compliance features.
  • Experience with managing and supporting other enterprise-level Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proven ability to manage IT processes and procedures, including incident management, change management, and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).
  • Good understanding of network fundamentals as they relate to server infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, & root cause analysis skills and the ability to translate to the immediate team.
  • Excellent customer service skills - Must be able to interact in person with customers who are experiencing server or application-related issues.
  • Ability and willingness to share knowledge with, lead, and mentor team members.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and related technologies, ensuring a robust, scalable, and secure environment.
  • Oversee server performance, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and optimization to maintain high availability and reliability of critical systems as well as monitoring these systems.
  • Manage on-premises, cloud (Azure), and hybrid server environments, architecting, designing, and supporting these environments as applications are implemented and supported.
  • Implement and manage server virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).
  • Manage the lifecycle of enterprise applications within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, etc.), Dynamics 365, and other relevant business applications.
  • Oversee application deployments, upgrades, patching, and configurations, ensuring alignment with business requirements and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with application owners and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Ensure the integration and interoperability of Microsoft enterprise applications with other systems.
  • Oversee other application deployments outside of the Microsoft ecosystem as needed. This includes ancillary systems of support.
  • Develop and implement technical designs for server infrastructure and enterprise application projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations to enhance infrastructure performance, efficiency, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions into the existing infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain IT processes and procedures related to server infrastructure and application management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for server maintenance, application support, incident response, and change management.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage a team of server administrators and application support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops to keep the team updated on the latest Microsoft technologies and best practices.
  • Engage with Microsoft and other relevant vendors and service providers to procure hardware, software, and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on server infrastructure and enterprise application projects and performance metrics.
  • Give excellent attention to detail while producing high-quality and accurate work within designated deadlines.
