About The Position

The School District of Denmark is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to provide front-line technical support across district buildings. This entry-level role requires strong customer service, organizational skills, and a desire to troubleshoot and learn. The technician will manage daily help desk requests, assist teachers and students with account logins, password resets, and routine tech issues. They will also answer phone calls, log and manage incoming help desk tickets, and collaborate effectively with staff and IT team members. Additionally, the role involves maintaining device inventory, tracking district hardware, and managing daily loaner equipment systems and deployment. Basic physical troubleshooting on classroom display boards, IP phones, cables, and peripheral hardware will also be part of the responsibilities, with on-the-job training provided.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong willingness to learn basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to district policies, including FERPA and COPPA guidelines for student data privacy
  • Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, and maintain high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with staff and students

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in IT Technology support or related field preferred
  • Post-secondary coursework or technology experience preferred
  • Basic familiarity with Apple devices, Windows OS, Chromebooks, and general educational technology systems
