About The Position

Spectrum Comm Inc. is seeking two (2) contracted Information Technology Equipment & System Administration Support Specialists to provide on-site IT, information assurance, help desk support, and IT asset management services for the customer at Nellis AFB. This role supports a user population of 650+ personnel and provides end-to-end client support across both NIPR (unclassified) and SIPR (classified) environments. The position is hands-on and operationally focused, with responsibility for troubleshooting, account and device management, ticket routing and tracking, and stewardship of IT assets across multiple facilities on base. The scope of work includes oversight and execution of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) functions, support for desktops/laptops and mobile devices, peripheral configuration and maintenance, and system administration duties supporting mission operations. This role also includes specialized responsibilities for compliance and internal controls, including serving as the unit assessor for the Management Internal Control Toolkit (MICT) in accordance with DAFI 90-302. MICT experience is highly desired, particularly candidates with unit self-assessment or internal compliance program exposure.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance (required).
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
  • Meets IAT Level II requirements in accordance with DoD 8140.03 (required).
  • Minimum three (3) years of practical experience in Information Technology (IT) or a related field (required).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in core IT principles, troubleshooting, and end-user support (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NIPR/SIPR environments and secure/unclassified support practices (highly preferred).
  • Experience with IT asset accountability/property management and inventory controls (preferred).
  • Experience with MICT and unit self-assessment/compliance processes (highly desired).
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or a related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of USAF computer programs, policies, and operational IT processes (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain handheld client devices (tablets, smartphones/mobile devices).
  • Serve as a functional system administrator supporting and maintaining NIPR and SIPR systems.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain peripheral devices (e.g., printers, monitors, scanners).
  • Serve as the unit assessor for the Management Internal Control Toolkit (MICT) in accordance with DAFI 90-302 (MICT experience highly desired; unit self-assessment experience is a strong plus).
  • Establish, man, and execute troubleshooting services, information assurance support, and asset accountability to support end users.
  • Use the current ticketing system to document, track, and manage work orders and support requests.
  • Forward and track trouble tickets to the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD), as required.
  • Perform IT Asset Management (ITAM) duties, including receipt, accountability, and tracking of all IT equipment across multiple buildings on Nellis AFB.
  • Plan and advise leadership/COR on IT equipment replacement, technology refresh planning, and required software/hardware updates or additions.
  • Install and maintain approved software on IT assets including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, tablets, VOIP phones, and smartphones.
  • Maintain and manage network systems to ensure optimal performance, functionality, and compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain secure TACLANE devices supporting SIPR enclaves.
  • Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VTC/SVTC equipment, including annual inventory and accountability actions.
  • Administer the CES SharePoint site, including sub-pages.
  • Serve as the unit administrator for communications-related issues by submitting work orders and trouble tickets to the 99th Communications Squadron.
