About The Position

Perplexity is seeking an early-career IT Engineer to join a small, high-impact IT team and help build systems and automations that support a fast-moving company. The role focuses on using AI tools, especially Perplexity Computer, to create an AI-native IT platform and automate IT operations. The position is hybrid at the San Francisco office.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT help desk and systems administration; experience in a fast-growing startup is preferred.
• Experience with macOS and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Okta; familiarity with Okta Workflows is preferred.
• Experience using AI coding tools and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• A methodical approach to root-cause troubleshooting and a strong interest in automating repetitive tasks.
• Clear, friendly communication skills and enjoyment of helping people.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in IT at a fast-growing startup.
• Experience with Okta Workflows.
• Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) tools such as Iru or Intune.

Responsibilities

• Use Perplexity Computer to build foundational AI automations, custom skills, and workflows for IT operations at scale.
• Instrument and tune the agentic IT ticketing system by identifying trends, tracking KPIs, and engineering agent behavior to resolve requests quickly.
• Provide day-to-day IT support to employees in person and remotely, including support for hardware, accounts, and SaaS applications.
• Build and promote company-wide self-service tools.
• Contribute to IT projects involving endpoint management, identity and access management (IAM), and the IT back end.
