About The Position

Install, maintain and repair a variety of wired and wireless electronic, communication and computerized systems and devices; develop, implement and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules and perform technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: access control, public address, security, fire alarm and station alerting, two-way radio and automated door systems. Essential and Supplemental Functions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of wired and wireless IP and serial communications and computerized systems and Electronic devices. Perform technical electronic tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: access control systems, public address systems, security surveillance systems, fire alarm systems and station alerting, two-way radio communication and automated door systems. Perform a variety of complex systems analysis duties in the design, implementation and maintenance of management information systems and supporting computer hardware and software applications Program and troubleshoot programmable controllers related to Access control systems, Public address systems, Security surveillance systems and Automated doors. Develop, implement and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of airport operating systems and related equipment including Video Surveillance Systems, Flight, Gate and Baggage Information Display Systems and Access control systems and Automated doors. Troubleshoot, repair and test automatic transfer equipment for stand-by generators in the airport terminal emergency power system and battery uninterrupted power source for communications center power. Remove, install, repair and modify fire alarm systems including the inter-relationship of Automated doors, Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance systems and Public address systems. Develop written technical documentation, internal operating procedures, and user manuals and instructions. Maintain a test bench and associated equipment; assume responsibility for maintaining appropriate supplies and supply sources for timely repair of equipment; order, receive, inspect, inventory and stock repair parts, diagnostic equipment and tools. Repair and maintain Analog and VOIP telephone's and other communications systems including those used for computerized central control of Access Control, Video Surveillance and Public address systems. Prepare service orders to document repair history of equipment; prepare and maintain records of work performed; submit reports as requested. Read blueprints, sketches and diagrams and/or receive verbal instructions for the layout of electronic and mechanical systems; assist in the preparation of specifications for electronic systems and equipment. SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: Attend seminars and training programs. Provide assistance to vendors that are contracted to work with the City of Albuquerque. Assist in the planning and implementation of multi-agency projects. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in electronics engineering, information systems, or computer science.
  • One (1) year of experience in any combination of the following areas: installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing low voltage systems down to component level, wired and wireless communication systems, serial communications, Local Area Network (LAN) equipment and theory of operation along with experience with a variety of computer platforms, software applications and operating systems.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
  • Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
  • Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs & Border Protection, if applicable.
