About The Position

As an IT Developer II on the TDAF Operations team, you will build technical depth across software engineering and production operations, while learning how a major financial services platform runs at scale. You will contribute code, strengthen reliability, and use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate investigation and problem-solving. This role supports business-critical systems. You should expect a hybrid way of working and a flexible schedule mindset. You may occasionally support after-hours or urgent incidents as part of a planned rotation, with clear runbooks and escalation support from the team.

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule and mindset to support emergencies, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive technical incidents (planned rotations and clear escalation paths).
  • Production support fundamentals across infrastructure, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Ability to analyze system logs, troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and clearly define the solution and next steps.
  • Demonstrated capability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize tasks efficiently during critical incidents, and communicate progress clearly.
  • Comfort following runbooks, escalation processes, and reliability best practices to protect availability and service quality.
  • Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, or technical certificate) in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in production support (operations or IT environment), including working with ticketing systems and meeting service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated builds and deployment practices
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub, VisualStudio, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Exposure to (or strong interest in learning) the following technologies commonly used in enterprise operations and application support: C# / .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS / SSIS
  • GitHub Copilot and AI experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship improvements: develop and implement small-to-medium enhancements, automation, and fixes that improve stability, resiliency, and day-to-day operational efficiency for production systems.
  • Solve real production problems: analyze logs, monitor system health, triage incidents, and perform root cause analysis (RCA), then help drive the permanent fix through to completion.
  • Operate with an AI-powered workflow: use AI tools responsibly to accelerate investigation (log summarization, hypothesis generation, pattern detection), reduce time-to-diagnosis, and improve the quality of remediation and documentation (without compromising security and confidentiality).
  • Protect uptime through disciplined operations: follow runbooks, escalation paths, and reliability practices; participate in incident communications and post-incident learnings.
  • Work across the full stack of run the bank technology: support production infrastructure fundamentals including monitoring, incident response, configuration, backups, and performance tuning as needed.
  • Collaborate across a broad ecosystem: partner with engineers, analysts, QE, product, vendors, and support teams to deliver safe changes and minimize risk to customers and business operations.
