About The Position

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are currently seeking undergraduate intern(s) for our IT Desktop Support Intern(s) for Fall 2026. Interns will participate in an introductory insurance class(es), engage with different departments to understand our corporate structure, sign up for optional learning development tracks / opportunities, interact with leadership and experienced associates, participate in group and individual projects, and learn new development tools and technical stacks with hands-on development projects.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (completed sophomore/second year or above preferred)
  • All majors are welcome to apply
  • Collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
  • In good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
  • Must be able to work at least 24 hours per week
  • Proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
  • Ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
  • Understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP protocol, load balancing, monitoring, etc.), Linux/Windows server platform, virtualization, cloud computing concepts
  • Understanding of front-end/back-end or full-stack development concepts
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Ability to interact effectively with management and colleagues to prioritize and organize work
  • Willingness to continually learn new technologies, skills, and improved processes
  • Reliable and service-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Learn new development tools and technical stacks with hands-on development projects
  • Build/configure Windows workstations for associates
  • Perform advanced software/hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot and respond to user questions
  • Track and update open calls and/or escalate problems
  • Assist with documenting, maintaining, upgrades or replacing hardware and software systems
  • Assist with business activities and processes
  • Participate and contribute to team meetings, presentations, and projects
  • Research emerging trends, data analysis, and evaluate options
  • Generate reports, promotional/educational materials, and other work products
  • Serve internal and external customers
