About The Position

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. This role serves as a Senior IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Enterprise Architecture), providing an enterprise-wide framework and approach within Information and Technology. The specialist will identify opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes utilizing emerging technologies. They will lead studies and develop technical and business case analyses for implementing new technologies, presenting findings to senior management. Additionally, the role involves delivering consolidated overviews of enterprise project portfolios for executive leadership, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations on project prioritization. The specialist will also provide technical expertise and systems analysis for IT/network/cloud computing implementation, migration planning, and expert consultation during execution.

  • Must meet DoD 8140 policy series requirements, including completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months.

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Specialized experience includes: providing oversight and analysis for an organization's information technology (IT) systems projects as it relates to system architecture, such as planning, development, and defining IT rules and requirements; analyzing, planning, designing, documenting, and assessing an IT enterprise structural framework.
