About The Position

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT). As a IT SPEC (APPSW/ENTARCH), GS-2210-13, you will provide high-level technical expertise in support of new or existing applications software in one or multiple specialties in order to develop data-driven solutions that address CMS program and business challenges.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply for this position.

  • Basic Requirement: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
  • In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Leading the design and development of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), serverless functions, or microservices to enable secure data access and interoperability for developers, business partners, or internal departments; and Architecting and leading the development of software applications and enterprise system integrations using modern programming languages and frameworks to support large-scale data management, business process automation, or system modernization initiatives; and Leading cross-functional teams in defining requirements, delivering technical solutions, or implementing software systems that support organizational goals and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Design or develop software, systems and systems to systems to achieve specified outcomes, capabilities, and architectures for data management.
  • Optimize application solutions to run in a timely manner.
  • Create architecture design and network topologies and develop approaches to support infrastructure, applications, and data.
  • Provide technical guidance, interpretation, implementation or oversight of applicable cyber security policies, processes, and practices to ensure continued operational availability.
