About The Position

Lantern Learning Group is seeking an IT Coordinator who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and providing exceptional support to our schools and support teams. This role oversees the installation, maintenance, security, and management of technology systems throughout the organization while supporting team members with day-to-day technology needs. While this position is remote, candidates must reside in the San Antonio or Dallas/Fort Worth metro area to support regular onsite visits, technology implementation projects, and operational needs at school locations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, technically skilled, and able to balance urgent support needs with long-term technology initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience providing IT support, systems administration, or network support.
Strong knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems, and business technology platforms.
Experience managing multiple priorities and technology-related projects.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and business technology systems.
Remote position with regular on-site support at school locations.
Candidates must reside in the San Antonio or Dallas/Fort Worth metro area.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to schools throughout the region are required.
Frequent computer use and extended screen time.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for maintenance, upgrades, and emergency support.
Local travel required with occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for hardware, software, and technology support.
Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues for team members across the organization.
Provide timely and professional technical assistance.
Support user account management, software installations, and system access.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of hardware, software, and network systems.
Monitor system performance and ensure reliable technology operations.
Maintain accurate inventories of technology equipment and software licenses.
Maintain organization-owned documentation including network diagrams, system credentials, and vendor contacts.
Coordinate with a backup Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure continuity of support coverage.
Coordinate technology projects from planning through implementation.
Work with organizational leaders to ensure projects align with business needs and strategic goals.
Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and technology resources.
Monitor and maintain network performance and security.
Ensure systems are protected through appropriate security measures and best practices.
Support regular data backup processes and disaster recovery efforts.
Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable data protection standards and company policies.
Partner with hardware, software, and technology service providers.
Obtain pricing, coordinate purchases, and manage vendor relationships.
Identify cost-effective technology solutions that support organizational goals.
Provide training and support on hardware, software, and technology best practices.
Educate team members on cybersecurity awareness and technology safety.
Develop documentation and resources that support system adoption and effectiveness.
