About The Position

NorthStar Energy Solutions is looking for a hands-on IT Computer Specialist to support the full lifecycle of employee technology. This role is critical to provisioning accounts and endpoints, deploying and supporting hardware and software, resolving workstation and basic network connectivity issues, assisting office and remote field employees, and ensuring company devices are accurately tracked, recovered, and securely retired.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred; up to four years of relevant experience in desktop support, help desk, field support, endpoint deployment, or a related IT role may be accepted in place of the degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Windows, mobile device administration, and endpoint lifecycle management.
  • Basic networking experience, including troubleshooting Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN, IP addressing, hotspots, and Starlink connectivity for remote field locations.
  • Experience configuring laptops, mobile devices, printers, docking stations, and common workstation peripherals.
  • Commitment to self-directed learning and professional development, with working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Power Apps.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, customer service, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple service requests and provide reliable support to employees at office and field locations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Computer Specialists and other IT team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provision new-hire accounts, Active Directory profiles, group memberships, and approved access based on onboarding requests.
  • Enroll and configure company-managed devices in Microsoft Intune; deploy required applications and policies; and resolve enrollment, access, or compliance issues.
  • Order, receive, inventory, configure, and deploy laptops, iPhones, iPads, hotspots, peripherals, and accessories.
  • Purchase, assign, renew, and track approved software licenses while maintaining accurate licensing records.
  • Set up and support employee workstations, including computers, monitors, docking stations, printers, phones, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, authentication, printing, connectivity, and peripheral issues.
  • Respond to service calls from office-based and remote field employees involving laptops, iPhones, iPads, hotspots, Starlink systems, and related accessories, providing remote or in-person technical assistance.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues involving Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN access, IP addressing, hotspots, and Starlink service.
  • Create, update, and close IT service tickets with clear troubleshooting steps, status updates, and resolution notes.
  • Escalate advanced network, server, security, application, or vendor-related issues to the appropriate resource.
  • Maintain accurate asset records, including serial numbers, assignments, inventory status, warranties, repairs, replacements, and returns.
  • Collect devices and accessories during employee offboarding, remove assignments, and document returned or missing equipment.
  • Securely wipe, repurpose, retire, or prepare devices for approved disposal in accordance with company procedures.
