About The Position

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking undergraduate intern(s) for several of their Information Technology / Computer Science roles and departments for Fall 2026. Successful candidates will want to gain meaningful work experience. Work location and flexibility are subject to change based on evolving business needs. Selected candidates who reside within 50 miles of Headquarters may be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, combining remote and onsite work. Candidates residing more than 50 miles from Headquarters must be flexible and available to travel to Fairfield, OH, on an occasional basis for special events, training sessions, or key meetings. Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore/second year or above highly preferred)
  • All majors are welcome to apply
  • Collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
  • In good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
  • Must be able to work at least 20 hours per week
  • Proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
  • Ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship. The company is not hiring interns for this role if they will need sponsorship at any time in the future, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (i.e. C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL, HTML)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, load balancing, monitoring)
  • Knowledge of front-end, back-end, or full-stack development concepts
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and collaborate effectively
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve
  • Reliable, service-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) or traditional project frameworks
  • Ability to test, debug, troubleshoot, and triage technical issues, including performing root cause analysis and recommending solutions
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with business activities and operational processes
  • Participate in team meetings, presentations, and project work
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and evaluate solutions
  • Generate reports and support documentation and system updates (e.g., patching)
  • Provide support to internal and external customers
