About The Position

Performs complex problem solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems within a Cisco network enclave. Participates in research and development initiatives and aids in the implementation of new technologies. Performs the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, networks, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of specifications, uses, and types of computer or computer-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services.
  • Knowledge of scientific principles, methods, and tools of basic and applied research used to conduct a systematic inquiry into a subject matter area.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Complete and pass the required fingerprint based criminal history records check and a Security Threat Assessment, per Transportation Security Administration regulations (49 CFR part 1542.209 and SE 152-04-08G).
  • Successfully pass the Criminal Justice Information Report (CJIS) Security and Awareness test.
  • Training or experience in some combination of providing customer service response, diagnosis, resolution, and/or escalation of end-user issues with information technology hardware and applications; installing new computers, printers, and other peripheral devices; and/or loading and troubleshooting software and hardware systems, maintaining security software, and configuring network settings for workstations.
  • Three (3) professional references, including name, job title, and current phone numbers.
  • Copy of Drivers License.
  • Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
  • The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
  • Candidates for this position must obtain and maintain Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) certification, which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
  • A felony conviction disqualifies a person from APSIN certification.
  • Misdemeanor convictions may also disqualify a person from APSIN certification.
  • The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications/competencies for a position and are required with each application.
