About The Position

Barrett Petfood is seeking a results-driven IT Business Systems Lead with expertise in ERP systems, manufacturing processes, integrations, and system administration. The role owns and supports the company’s ERP (Plex), MES, and related business systems, serving as a primary partner to operational and business teams. It combines strategic systems leadership with hands-on support, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a fast-growing environment. The position is based in Little Falls, Minnesota. On-site presence is strongly preferred because of the role’s partnership with manufacturing and operational teams, though a hybrid arrangement may be considered. Candidates should be in Minnesota or within reasonable traveling distance of Little Falls and able to work on-site regularly and as business needs require. The anticipated base salary is $90,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall fit. The company may obtain consumer and/or investigative consumer reports for employment purposes. These may include information about character, reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living, criminal or credit history, driving records, education, employment history, and other background checks. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years supporting, administering, or implementing ERP, MES, or enterprise systems.
Experience with vendors and system improvement initiatives.
Ability to partner effectively with business, technical, and vendor teams, prioritize competing demands, and translate operational needs into technology solutions.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing ERP experience is strongly preferred.
Plex ERP experience is strongly preferred, or the ability to ramp quickly on a new platform.

Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day performance, reliability, configuration, administration, and support of Barrett’s ERP (Plex), MES, and related business systems.
Serve as the primary business systems partner to manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, and other teams, translating business needs into practical technology solutions.
Manage relationships with ERP, MES, integration, development, and other technology vendors, including support, prioritization, escalations, and delivery.
Lead and coordinate system enhancements, upgrades, new modules, integrations, and process-improvement initiatives.
Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize business systems initiatives as needs evolve.
Evaluate systems and business processes to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, simplification, and improved user experience.
Oversee system integrations, EDI processes, and reliable data flow between business applications.
Partner with IT Operations to help ensure the integrity, availability, security, backup, recovery, and continuity of business systems and data.
Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, engaging internal resources and vendors as appropriate.
Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing practices to reduce organizational dependency on individual system knowledge.
Partner with data and analytics resources to support reliable reporting and access to business information.
Provide leadership and guidance around business systems and support the future growth of the business systems function.
