IT Assistant - Winter 26-27
About The Position
We are looking for an IT Assistant that will work with our corporate IT team to install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming at the highest functionality. You will also assist with training users of the systems to make appropriate and safe use of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Assistant must have a working knowledge and experience with computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to assist with maintaining updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT help desk or equivalent relevant position
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Experience with installing and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 suite and Microsoft Windows OS.
- Experience with installing and troubleshooting local and network printers
Nice To Haves
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Unifi and Ubiquiti wifi and network equipment is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Aid with maintaining local networks
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Assist with scheduling maintenance and deploying upgrades and without deterring others from completing their work
- Provide onsite IT support and rapid response during all operating hours, including weekends and holidays during the winter season. This is a mandatory requirement for the role.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
