About The Position

Our Snowmaking team maintains the snow guns, hoses, hoses, hydrant and pumping stations when snowmaking is operational. This job involves working as part of a team to open and maintain skiing terrain with the best possible snow that can be created. Full Time and Part Time positions available. Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a snowmobile or other all-terrain vehicles.
  • Must have the ability to hike for sustained periods of time at a high elevation and in inclement, unpredictable and cold weather conditions, at night.
  • Must have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and/or recognize minor snowmaking equipment malfunctions.
  • Requires interpersonal skills to work closely with other snowmakers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be available to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays as well as swing and night shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, operate and maintain relevant snowmaking equipment.
  • Frequent relocation of snowmaking guns and hoses to various areas around the mountain.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on snowmaking equipment as needed.
  • Maintain snowmaking hydrants, pedestals and padding around all snowmaking equipment.
  • Operate high-voltage equipment and high-pressure water systems utilizing appropriate safety procedures and processes outlined by Bear Valley Resort.
  • Complete daily work, maintenance, and safety logs.
  • Operates snowmobiles and/ or side by sides after safety and operations training supplied by Bear Valley Resorts.
  • Comply with all Mountain Operations and Snowmaking safety procedures.
  • Working with and assisting other Mountain Operations departments such as grooming, snow removal and terrain park.
