About The Position

The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC, providing services to state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities. NCDIT’s mission is to enable trusted business-driven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians, and it is charged with closing the digital divide by expanding broadband services. This is a temporary supplemental position within the North Carolina Department of Information Technology - Office of State Human Resources, focusing on a Workday Technical Lead role for Conversion, Integration, and Testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
  • Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
  • High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Workday HCM in the cloud either as an implementer or key user of the product
  • Experience working with government organizations
  • Experience in a technical lead / technical support role on a Workday HCM implementation

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and subject matter expertise in implementing the technical areas in scope and overseeing the timely completion of deliverables required by the Project Work Plan for areas of responsibility.
  • Works with the subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop the test strategy and test plans, identify test requirements, create test scenarios, and oversee the execution of the test scenarios independently and as part of integration and end-to-end testing.
  • Oversee the state’s responsibilities with regards to development including the design and build of integrations, reports, conversions, extensions, and workflows.
  • Oversee the overall testing of integrations, conversions, and reporting solutions.
  • Serve as an advisor on complex technical issues facing the team.
  • Design technical documentation that outlines the solution design, implementation details, conversion details and support procedures.
  • Be responsible for coordinating testing efforts to validate that the configured solution meets defined requirements.
  • Be responsible for overall management of the state technical team and for confirming the coordination of their work with other team members/leaders’ work.
