About The Position

This position supports a Federal agency client, providing incident tracking and examination support in the capital market system. Hires will be operating in a “fusion center”-like environment, responsible for intake and analysis of system disruption, compliance and intrusion events reported under Regulation SCI. The position is within walking distance of Union station, and within easy access of public transportation (MARC/VRE/Metro).

Requirements

  • 4+ years in related field.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT and network infrastructure concepts, including (but not limited to): data center configuration/operation, network connectivity providers, network equipment, server hardware and operating systems, virtualization, disaster recovery/failover systems.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, notably to senior executives and/or in “public presentation” environments.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork ethic and a high degree of personal motivation.
  • Responsive, “customer-centric” demeanor
  • Security Clearance Required: Public Trust

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in pursuing further experience in IT, Networking, and Cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of risk and how to measure risk with respect to IT system
  • Possesses an in depth understanding of the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience in: SharePoint Design/Development
  • Scripting (VBA, PowerShell, and/or Python)
  • IT and/or Cybersecurity Governance, Compliance or Audit
  • Capital Markets/Institutional Banking Operations/Financial Technology (FinTech)
  • A+, Network+, and/or Security+ Certifications

Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as enterprise IT and network infrastructure concepts, including (but not limited to): data center configuration/operation, network connectivity providers, network equipment, server hardware and operating systems, virtualization, disaster recovery/failover systems.
  • Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, and high-level functional systems analysis.
