About The Position

The IT Analyst II role focuses on IT Governance, IT Risk Analysis, IT Compliance, User Education and Awareness, and Disaster Avoidance. The position involves supporting and maintaining enterprise governance documentation, conducting risk analysis, ensuring compliance with governing bodies, educating staff on IT and Security programs, and participating in the development of IT disaster avoidance and incident response programs. The role also includes performing miscellaneous tasks, engaging in research for professional development, and communicating with peers and staff.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional information technology experience.
  • Work experience in an information security or information technology role may replace education requirements on a year-for-year basis.
  • Information security experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in, and support efforts to create, modify, and maintain enterprise governance documentation, including: policies, standards, baselines, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Support the UF and UF Health risk management practices and programs by conducting risk analysis and reporting results to stakeholders using problem solving, analytical thinking, information capture, workflow analysis and business acumen.
  • Support the UF and UF Health IT compliance efforts, working with enterprise tools and units to ensure UF complies with internal and external governing bodies.
  • Support the education and training of UF and UF Health staff regarding IT and Security user education programs.
  • Participate in developing IT disaster avoidance and incident response programs to protect the university’s assets.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Engage in research and self-study for professional development.
  • Communicate and interact with peers and staff.
