About The Position

The IT Administrator is a hands-on technology professional responsible for the secure, reliable operation and day-to-day support of the company's IT infrastructure, end-user technology, and core systems. This position supports employees in an office and manufacturing environment, serves as a Tier 1 and 2 escalation resource, and helps modernize a hybrid environment as services move to cloud-based platforms. The role requires strong customer service, sound judgment, and practical experience with Microsoft cloud services, identity and access management, endpoints, networking, virtualization, backups, cybersecurity, and vendor-supported business applications.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in information technology, computer information systems, management information systems, computer science, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, network administration, or Tier 2 technical support.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, switching, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows 11 operating systems and business endpoints.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or later and related server administration practices.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience administering Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, user accounts, groups, permissions, and access.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, cloud migrations, and hybrid technology environments.
  • Knowledge of Nutanix or comparable virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of on-premises and cloud-based backup, restoration, and disaster recovery practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting technology in a manufacturing or similarly complex operating environment preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Endpoint Administration, IAM, Nutanix, or other certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain network hardware, Nutanix infrastructure, Windows servers, endpoints, software, telecommunications, and related technology services.
  • Maintain switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and other network services; troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and availability issues.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, permissions, multifactor authentication, access reviews, onboarding, offboarding, and license assignments.
  • Provide responsive in-person and remote Tier 1 and Tier 2 support; assess urgency, communicate status, resolve issues, and escalate when additional expertise or authority is required.
  • Configure, deploy, patch, and support computers, mobile devices, printers, production-floor technology, and approved software while maintaining accurate asset and lifecycle records.
  • Monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, perform periodic restore testing, and support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and exercises.
  • Support cybersecurity controls, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, system patching, access controls, monitoring, and incident response in accordance with company requirements.
  • Assist with secure migrations from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based platforms and services, including planning, testing, implementation, documentation, and user support.
  • Support vendor-managed business applications and integrations, including Salesforce, ERP, Boomi, Azure, and AWS; coordinate issue resolution with internal owners and external providers.
  • Plan and complete assigned infrastructure and end-user technology projects; coordinate vendors, timelines, testing, communications, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain complete and current service tickets, system documentation, procedures, inventories, configurations, and network diagrams; provide user training as needed.
