This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their IT career (1–5 years of experience) who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and learning on the job. You’ll get exposure to everything from help desk support to systems and networking, with a clear path to grow into a more advanced infrastructure role over time. You’ll start fully on-site to build relationships and gain a deep understanding of our systems, then transition into a more flexible hybrid/remote setup with occasional on-site visits.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and basic networking
  • Experience with: Windows 11
  • Active Directory / user management
  • Basic networking (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or distributed environments
  • Exposure to networking/firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco Meraki)
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery
  • Experience in healthcare or veterinary settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to doctors, technicians, and administrative staff
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues (Windows, printers, peripherals)
  • Support clinical and business applications used in a veterinary environment
  • Manage user accounts, access, and onboarding/offboarding
  • Assist with Windows servers, Active Directory, and basic Group Policy
  • Help manage Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Monitor system performance, backups, and alerts
  • Perform routine updates, maintenance, and patching
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues (connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
  • Support firewalls, switches, and wireless systems (Meraki experience is a plus)
  • Coordinate with vendors and ISPs when needed
  • Provide remote IT support across multiple hospital locations
  • Help standardize systems and processes across sites
  • Assist with projects like new site setups, upgrades, and equipment rollouts
  • Participate in IT projects (infrastructure upgrades, migrations, security improvements)
  • Maintain clear documentation for systems and processes
  • Help improve IT workflows and best practices

Benefits

  • Gain hands-on experience across systems, networking, and support
  • Work in a fast-growing, multi-site healthcare environment
  • Clear path for career growth into more advanced IT roles
  • Transition into a flexible, primarily remote position after onboarding
  • Make a real impact supporting teams who deliver critical animal care
