About The Position

The IT Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s information technology systems, networks, and end-user computing environment. This role ensures the availability, reliability, and secure operation of IT infrastructure and provides technical support to maintain efficient business operations.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 services, and Active Directory environments.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and system administration concepts.
  • Experience with system administration, endpoint management, software deployment, and security patching tools.
  • Proficient with productivity and documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to follow established security standards and procedures when administering systems and user access.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, management, and internal customers.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear, professional technical documentation, including work instructions, system documentation, presentations, and operational or summary reports (e.g., flash reports).
  • Ability to document technical processes and activities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when creating and maintaining technical documentation and reports.
  • Well organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties and balancing operational and documentation responsibilities.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work effectively in environments where procedures exist but require judgment and adaptation.
  • Ability to document work activities, decisions, and outcomes in a clear, professional, and repeatable manner.
  • At least three years of experience in information technology systems administration, including servers, endpoints, user access, and enterprise IT environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, supports, and maintains servers, workstations, network devices, and related IT infrastructure across the organization.
  • Performs installation, configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of operating systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Provides technical support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and access-related issues.
  • Manages user accounts, permissions, and access rights across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Monitors system performance, availability, and alerts; identifies and resolves issues to minimize downtime and business disruption.
  • Performs routine system maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, backups, and recovery testing.
  • Assists with the administration and maintenance of network services, including switches, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, and firewall rule requests, as assigned.
  • Supports endpoint management activities, including device provisioning, asset tracking, software delivery, and lifecycle management.
  • Assists with maintaining system documentation, diagrams, inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Works with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to support IT operations and resolve technical issues.
  • Supports security-related tasks as assigned, such as implementing approved security configurations, assisting with incident response activities, and following established security procedures.
  • Participates in IT projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
