About The Position

The IT Administrator is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and administration of the organization's technology environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for end-user support, account administration, device management, and routine IT operations. The IT Administrator works closely with the IT Operations Manager and the organization's Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure systems, applications, and infrastructure operate efficiently and securely. While the IT Administrator performs hands-on administration and support activities, more complex infrastructure, security, and project initiatives may be performed collaboratively with the IT Operations Manager and MSP.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in IT support, systems administration, help desk, or a similar technical role.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, networking concepts, and endpoint management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external service providers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 administration and user lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience working with third-party managed service providers.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end users by resolving incidents, service requests, and access-related issues.
  • Provision, configure, deploy, and decommission laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain approved software and applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and printing issues.
  • Assist users with login, authentication, and access-related problems.
  • Maintain inventory records and documentation for assigned IT assets.
  • Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other business systems.
  • Assign and manage Microsoft 365 licenses.
  • Manage user permissions, security groups, and shared resources.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee access changes in coordination with Human Resources and management.
  • Perform routine administration and maintenance of servers, workstation environments, and business applications.
  • Assist with system updates, patching activities, and software deployments.
  • Monitor system health and escalate issues to the IT Operations Manager or MSP as appropriate.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records.
  • Assist with basic network administration, including troubleshooting connectivity issues, VPN access, wireless connectivity, and remote user support.
  • Work with the MSP and IT Operations Manager on advanced networking, firewall, and infrastructure-related matters.
  • Support office technology, conference room equipment, and telecommunications systems.
  • Follow established security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with endpoint security, antivirus management, and access control reviews.
  • Report and help investigate potential security incidents.
  • Work with the IT Operations Manager and MSP to support security initiatives, audits, and remediation efforts.
  • Assist with routine backup verification and restoration testing activities as directed.
  • Help ensure critical business data is protected and recoverable.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts in coordination with the IT Operations Manager and MSP.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers as directed by the IT Operations Manager.
  • Assist with system upgrades, technology rollouts, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in IT projects and implementations led by the IT Operations Manager and/or MSP.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, assets, and support activities.
  • Update knowledge base articles and operational documentation.
  • Assist with reporting related to system health, support metrics, and technology assets.
