About The Position

This is a temporary, 8-12 month co-op position starting in September 2026. The schedule follows a M-F, 40hrs/week schedule. This position is based in Squamish, BC. Relocation support is provided, including the first 4 weeks of company-paid accommodation. The role pays $22-26/hour. The IT Admin Co-Op will develop IT Support skills, supporting Business, Engineering, and Operations Users. As a key part of the Information Technology team, you will assist the IT Administrator in providing infrastructure support services to users. Reporting to the IT Administrator, typical tasks in this role would include IT work related to on-boarding new employees, responding to user requests/incidents, and assisting with our hardware evergreen program. Our computing environment includes a combination of on-premise, cloud, and industrial services so experience with these technologies would be useful.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a co-op program through a recognized post-secondary institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering
  • Experience with fundamental concepts of IT environments
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex IT topics to people at any level in the organization
  • Ability to balance competing or conflicting goals of various departments and stakeholders, which requires a mature, diplomatic approach and highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
  • A personal focus on service quality

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with security controls would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the procurement of IT hardware
  • Assist with maintenance of IT inventory
  • Troubleshooting problems with systems and programs
  • Monitoring and maintaining networks and servers
  • Upgrading, installing, and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats
  • Creating user accounts and performing access control
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data
  • Developing data retrieval and recovery procedures
  • Training on standard hardware and software
  • Managing software licenses as required
  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
  • Follow all existing health and safety related standard operating procedures
